Therapeutic Approach

I provide a holistic, integrative approach in healing to help clients achieve their personal goals. As an integrative therapist, I strive to promote healing through the prism of body, mind, and spirit, therefore looking at the whole person and I consider all aspects of life that factor into one’s well-being and path to happiness.

My holistic, integrative approach to healing includes tenants of Energy Psychology which is based on the theory that mental health and physical health are related to flow and functioning of the body’s energy and bio-energy fields. This means that the body’s electricity and energy can be manipulated to produce healing and spiritual development, which is the root of holistic approaches to medicine.

Education and Experience

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.  I hold both a Doctorate and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University in Irvine, California.  I have a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from University of California, Irvine.  My doctoral dissertation examined the relationship between grieving fathers and their daughters, following the loss of the mother.

My clinical experience and training includes appointments at Women’s Transitional Living Center, Family Assessment Counseling and Education Services, and UC Irvine Child Development Center.  I have experience in individual, couples, family, and group therapy, along with court mandated assessment and therapy for child custody conflicts, domestic violence, and substance abuse.  I have worked with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues that include depression, PTSD, ADHD, anxiety, grief and loss, abuse and trauma, life developmental issues, career coaching, parenting support, and more.

Prior to completing my Doctorate degree, I had over 15 years of experience in banking including positions as a Commercial Banking Relationship Associate and a Branch Manager.  With this experience in the corporate business world, along with my experience in psychotherapy, I am also able to provide coaching in career development, workplace stress reduction, and the challenge of balancing work and home responsibilities.

My passion lies in using integrative therapies such as mindfulness meditation, Reiki, energy psychology, and creative means of expression such as music, art, and poetry.  Along with practicing integrative therapies, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy.

I offer my services in a safe, comfortable and supportive environment, building a relationship based on empathy, trust, and care. My approach is personalized to each individual and tailored to meet each person’s needs thereby helping them attain personal growth and well-being.
